Metastatic Prostate Cancer: Bone & Body Scan
This scanned photo shows how widespread prostate cancer has become within the patients body. The patient concerned underwent a series of bones scans and PET/CT scans within the space of a week. The orange to red areas mark the cancer.
Where cancer has spread away from the primary area of development, it is described as metastatic. This image shows metastatic prostate cancer which is at its most advanced stage (Stage 4). The bones are a part of the body often affected by metastatic prostate cancer and can bring symptoms of pain.
