Metastatic Prostate Cancer Cells
This is a photograph of metastatic prostate cancer cells. For easier identification they are have been marked with a purple dye. Note the clustering of these cells and the large & prominent nucleoli (black areas within the cells). When prostate cancer cells form tight clusters tumors can develop (areas of abnormal tissue). Metastatic means the cancer has spread away from the primary area, which, in this case is the prostate gland.
