The Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults (HKNC) is a national rehabilitation program serving youth and adults who are deaf-blind.

Their mission is to enable each individual who is deaf-blind to live and work in their community of choice.

Any citizen of the United States who is 16 years of age and older with a combined hearing and vision loss is eligible to apply to the Center.

HKNC staff are qualified to work with consumers who use a variety of communication methods which include:

  • American Sign Language
  • the manual alphabet
  • speech
  • braille
